eXchange 2 question

Ok folks, I think I got a handle on why I can't download a pattern from the eXchange 2 program thanks to C&R Hunter. I need to find the "file" icon to import or export a pattern. I can't find where that icon is located. It may be right in front of my face but I don't see it. Will someone please tell me where to find it.

Thanks to the Georgia Canuck I may be half way there. I need to find the word "file" at the left side of the screen. Is there a special way to get "file" to show up on the left side? All I have is All; Recycle; and Samples. I don't have the word "file" at the left of my screen. Does the ctx have to be plugged in to get the word file?
I would like to try some of the patterns on the forum, but I need the word "file" first.

Yes, the CTX has to turned on and connected to the computer to get to the files on the CTX.

I attached a screen shot showing where the FILE icon should be. I don't know why that wouldn't show up, for you. You do not have the CTX attached for this to show up on the screen. My CTX was not connected when I took this screen shot. If it had been, the icon for the CTX would be above the ALL icon. I got my CTX the very last day of May. I don't remember if I downloaded the XChange2 App from the disc or from the Minelab website. It seems like there might have been a similar issue to yours, posted on the CTX detecting forum, back in June.......
 
The file icon will not appear until the CTX has been connected ot Xchange 2 for the first time... Yes the CTX has to be on to make the connection.. After the first connection the icon will always be present in Xchange 2.....wildherre

Thanks one and all for your help in this matter. wildherre hit the nail on the head. I plugged in my ctx, the word "file" appeared. Then closed the app, twice, reopened, and the word "file" was in the app.
If this is in the manual, then I zoned out when I read that part.
