i was thinking about buying one are they real good and what is the best size 12.5 or 14 it will be used for relic hunting thanks all <IMG SRC="/metal/html/whites.jpg" BORDER=0 width=29 height=18 ALT="w~">

The 14" is great but you start feeling the extra
weight in a few hours. I believe I would opt for
the 12.5 after owning the 14". Maybe one of the
fellas who were using the 12.5 could give you and
actual comparison. Maybe an email to JW. HH Richard

liked what it did for me. At the time there wasn't a 12

I've only used the 14" and I like the coil.....but it took some getting used to the added weight. At first I noticed fatigue in my shoulder and upper arm within 30 minutes of swinging, now I don't notice it at all. Monte makes good suggestions on how to reduce the fatigue and stress on your arm - they worked for me! Beyond that, if the 12.5" works as well as the 14" you'll find you love either one - it will boil down simply to the weight issue. JW will help you out. HH Sarge

Hey Monte, if you want to save your body alot of abuse, get yourself a Swingy-Thingy from Doc at Coiltek. I got mine the other day, and used it for the first time today on my MXT, and IT WORKS GREAT! I was working in a local park with alot of
steep hills, and it performed perfectly. You can make easy, fast adjustments when your going up hills with one hand. It costs $29.95 + $5 s/h., and well worth it. It's very well made, well packaged, delivered quickly WITHOUT EXTRA CHARGES,
Doc's operation was great to deal with. LOL/HH.

Spurg,
The 14 inch coil weighs about 6 ounces more than the stock coil, It does feel a little heavier but not really enuff to be bothersome. If you like the stock coil you'll love the 14 inch coil. The 14 inch coil is better in trash, handles minerals better and gets an honest 3-4 inches deeper than the stock coil in dirt, it will nearly double the stock coils depth in sand. Try one, you'll like it.
Be fore warned, they are a little more sensitive to being bumped into hard objects, and as you have read here there are a few who have gotten a bad coil, I think Kellyco has cleared this problem up though,, and if your not satisfied with it they have a return policy. Personally when I got mine The only time I took it off was to try the 5 inch coil which is awesome in trash and has hit several 6 inch coins. So far The excelerator coils seem to be some of the deepest coils for the mxt, you always here the question who does it compare to the stock coil, well that's easy, there is none, the 14 inch coil flat blows it away any way you want to try it.

Things have been so busy at work, I'm barely able to keep up just reading all the good finds everyone is posting. Only been out a few time this year, but did manage to get into Virginia and dig some pretty neat CW relics!
