Excellerator coils and the MXT

I'm planing on getting the 5" and 18" Excellerator coils to use on my MXT. Are these coils calibrated to show the same VDI number, target ID,and depth readings as the 9.5"stock Whites coil? Is there anything I'll have to do differently than I'm doing with the stock coil to get the most out of these coils? Ground balancing, setting trac and mode toggles, trigger switch, gain, daul control ect.

as a general rule any coil size different from the stock coil will exhibit variences in the coin-depth reading. Some might also be 'off' a little in visual Target ID.
I have owned and/or used every coil White's makes for the MXT. The stock 950 is fine for general application, at least for many, but I personally prefer the 5.3 Eclipse out of all the White's coils. That was my primary-use coil until I tried some aftermarket coils.
My primary coil now is/has been the 5" EXcelerator coil. The depth of detection of this coil is very surprising and it lets me work in and around all of the abundant trash, brush and building rubble at the sites I prefer to hunt.
I have the 14" and 12

Monte, What kind of depth increase on a dime sized target do you think I'll get going from the stock Whites 9.5" to the 12.5" Excelerator? The people at Kellyco told me the 18"was very good at finding small objects and that they don't think I'd miss a dime at 12-14" with the 18"Exc. coil and I might find dimes at 14-18". Is this in your opinion an exaggeration ?Thanks Monte for your help with this post and others.Rich

A lot of the depth of detection will depend on the ground your looking in, In hard red dirt outside of a school plat area I found several honest measuered 9-10 inch dimes with the 14" In sand at Atlantic city and Va beach have got dimes and oennies over a foot and found over a dozen quarters 18-20 inches down in New Jersey. Have not used the 12.5 but in my looking areas the 14 will get 3-4 inches deeper than the stock coil and out performs the stock in all situations.

Thanks for your comments guys. Most of my hunting is in fields where I know there was an old house or mill in it years ago. Just found an 1802 half cent yesterday in a field I've pounded hard for a month.Have found half dimes in this field also and I'm wondering if the 18in" excellerator coil would miss a half dime size target or would it reach down that extra depth (compared to the 9.5"stock coil)and grab me some more coins. The soil is not highly mineralized here and trash isn't a problem.
