Mtwolf and I headed out today to hit a yard of a 1940's house. Fairly small front yard and decent backyard. Started off the hunt by splitting the property into halves or quarters, as we always do, then we take turns picking first. Today was my turn to pick my side first, and I usually pick wrong, but today I got it right!! I started to find a few wheats and alot of memorials and then I got a good number of 12-45 4 " but not much of a target trace. I dug the plug and pulled out a huge nail, I thought that might have been the signal but didn't really think so, so I rechecked the hole and the numbers still there but this time I had a good trace. I dug a little deeper and pulled out a 1956 Washington Quarter! Hunted a little more and got a good s12-44 signal showing 5", dug the plug and it was a Silver ring with a turqoise stone! Went a little farther and got some more wheats then got a good 12-43 signal at 4". Dug the plug and was shocked to see yet another ring!! It was a band that is marked inside 10kt gold filled and Sterling Silver! Hunted some more in this same little front yard and got a solid 12-44 at 4". I was hoping for a Merc as i dug the plug and was just astonished to see yet another ring!! I could not believe it another Sterling band!! All are womens rings. Went to the back yard after the front was thouroughly covered and got a decent signal and when I dug the plug I thought I had a silver coin but it turned out to be play money, fairly old but worthless. Went to the old clothesline and under it I got a great 12-44 signal at 5". Dug the plug and out popped a 1964 Roosevelt dime! All in all it was a great hunt. I got 3 rings, 2 silver coins 10 wheats and a total of 40 coins. Mtwolf can post his finds as he did well too! Thanks for looking and HH, we are going to be back out tommorow for a full days hunt so hopefully we will have more to post! PS picture was made with my Iphone and it is my first attempt with it so hope it turns out ok.
