It's simply amazing what the special GROUND BALANCE WINDOW feature can do in some of the most mineralized soils found in such places as Australia and Italy. See how the AT Gold can pick pick up a small gold nugget underneath a pile of mineralized soil so mineralized that it sticks to a magnet. Simply amazing!!!

Did any other detector ever have this feature? Realizing that this window feature is for very tough soil I can't help but think that it could be used on other detectors.

I hope I'm not bursting your bubble here John, but the AT Gold is not sold here in Australia yet as it's far too unstable to cope with gold field conditions over here. Garrett are onto it and working on that as wee speak, so hopefully it won't be long and it will become available over here. The good news is that the AT Pro seems handles the goldfields pretty good. One of the locals here has taken his AT out on the gold fields a few times and found that it out performs his X-terra 705. More stable, more sensitive and punches deeper.
