I have the above De-tech coil and have been very impressed with its depth and pinpointing capability on my E-trac. The insulation covering on the connector wire has deteriorated and I'm concerned about the water proofing integrity. I've wrapped the wire with electrical tape for land hunting but I want to use it in the surf. I've contacted De-tech but haven't received a response. Does anyone here know of anyone or place were I can send this coil to have the connector wire replaced?
 
Detech's warranty is one year. If you're past that I think that cost would push me to just get another coil. NEL and Coiltek have coils just as good/better but have longer warranties.
 
get you some aquaseal on the bay
 
Thanks for the info. I'll try to waterproof it before using it in the surf. If it leaks Oh Well I tried.
