Excelerator EQ2 6" coils

Post is really for Bryce.
I read your review of Excelerator coil, was wondering if it was the same coil as the Excelerator EQ2 coils available on Kellyco.

Also, do you think it may be possible to get the cord on my large EQ2 coil fixed? I think I pinched it when I was extending the shaft while detecting in water, and when I got it out today the coil was very erratic, no matter what. When I switched to the Sunray probe, the detector acted completely normal.

Any advice on getting my coil's cable fixed from anyone would be appreciated.

Thanks.

hello to fix coil cable you have to know where its broken. if you know where its broken carefully open cable shielding and resolder broken cable, if its in the coil different complicated song. problem with explorers cables that after some time inside cable shielding and cable starts to broke and if you need new cable you will not get. I did research on it ---its big minelab secret... :punch: .but you can use two coax cable instead one but again different song. my suggestion buy for 50$ 1050 original coil and through old to the moon. good luck Stasys

My coil is not from Minelab, it is an Excelerator II.

I can see a spot in the cable that has a small pinch. Doesn't look bad, but it is the only thing I can figure. It worked perfectly one day, then when I shortened the shaft to put it into car and got it out to use it, it was extremely erratic, with the coil constantly sounding multiple and different targets.

I may take it to an electronics repair shop to see if they can fix it.
