Does anybody have any experience with any of these coils. I am thinking of getting a 5" coil what do you guys think. Can get the Excelerator for only 119$ right now. Sun Ray is 180$

I'm using the 5" Excelerator. I think it was money well spent! I can't say anything about the Sun Ray, Because I've never used one. The Excelerator has great depth and pin points very well!! Just my opinion. Hope this helps, M.L. Hinds

you don't have to trim out the hole to get it to fit as I understand the excelerator does.

Hi Jeff,
As is turns out, the Excelerator 5" coil is supposed to be shipped with hardware to connect it properly to the lower shaft. The 2 coils that I ordered were missing the hardware so I went ahead and drilled out the hole in the coil itself to accept the standard Minelab lower shaft hardware. Good hunting- Brian

Mine came with the nylon bolt too that was the smaller one and it works fine when conecting it to the lower shaft without makeing the hole bigger. I too feel it was designed that way to be used with the smaller nylon bolt and can see why you made yours bigger if it wasnt there when you got it.
I got to try mine once and just got rusty nails in the site I was at. I think my X 8 seperates the targets as good if not better.
Rick
