Excelerator 5 in. Non Imaging DD Search Coil Question

Treasure wiz

Has anyone with a Garrett GTI 2500 tried the Excelerator Non Imaging DD 5 inch search coil and what were results and is it worth the money?
I am thinking of purchasing one of these for the beach,is this a good choice for the wet sand and shallow water?

I've had one for a few years and I think it's great for tot lots and areas that are loaded with trash tragets. However, it's really not a good choice for the beach because it is such a small search coil. It would take forever to cover a large area like a beach with such a small search coil. It's really best to use while concentrating on a small area to search. Also, it's not submersible like the Garrett search coils are. It is waterproof, meaning that you can use it in wet grass and such, but it cannot be submerged in water.
A concentric(round/non-DD)search coil is really the best option to use while searching a saltwater beach area. I would only get a DD search coil if the beach that I was searching was loaded with black sand. If I was you, I would just stick with the stock 9.5" search coil. If you do want to get a DD search coil I would get the newer 8.5"x11"DD. Heck, that old 5"x10"DD ain't bad. It's probably my favorite one.
Anyways, best of luck to ya whichever search coil you decide to get. Feel free to ask for advice at anytime.
Happy Hunting!:)
