Excel Iron challenge finds.....Part 3

Went back to my iron loaded foundation site again. This time turned sensitivity down to 3 & went slow and kept sweeping from all different angles. Any "fringe" type signal, or iffy sounds I dug. I brought a bucket to put iron crap in. Well, there's nothing great in my hand, but again I was told it was "hunted out" & I was wasting my time Plus, any of these 4 flat buttons could have been an 1812 or something dandy. I also was able to pull up a couple musketballs, colonial copper (bent), shoe buckle piece, and a kinda cool "mini sword" thingy that should probably go to the "whats-it" boyz....HH, Bill

Going slow with lots of overlap is the key as most know. The Excel is great at picking thru iron for sure. I use the ML Advantage with the 7.25 DD coil and the Excel. The Advantage will sometimes hit stuff larger than coin size deeper in iron but the Excel will pick out the coins and smaller stuff just as well if not better and with decent ID to boot.

I just wish it wasn't so dang dry around here so I could get out in the yards a little more.

There's so much iron there on every sweep that doing that gave me a headache after awhile. So, I made most of those finds with disc bumped up to 00. Good question...
I forgot to mention that.......
