excallibur repair

Depends on if it is still under warranty right now. Few weeks under warranty and a few months (at this time) if not under warranty.

Typically how long do the repairs take ?
What's wrong with it if you don't mind me asking?

I see. That's unfortunate. Seems that's all you here about them now. At some point they're going to have to fix the issue down there. They're giving Minelab a black eye over all these complaints over long wait times.

Minelab does not appear to care. Until such time as the fiasco starts costing them sales they will do nothing. At least in almost a year of the situation getting worse and worse they have done nothing. Before Barry passed away the wait was about three weeks. Not A stellar turn around but acceptable. Now it is three or four months and the wait keeps getting longer and longer.

Minelab just ignores E-Mails concerning the situation.

I talked to a Gentleman who does detector repairs on all except Minelab machines and was told that he had contacted Minelab about doing repairs on out of warranty machines and they would not sell him parts with which to make the repairs.

How long ago was this - seems very different from what folks are currently experiencing.

I heard from a friend in Scotland .He advised me to send it to the repair depot in Britain next time , for 2 week (fortnight) repair at the longest . HMMMM

About a year and a half ago I sent them my Xcal with a bad coil. Only took them a couple of weeks.

They have now had my Sovereign Gt for ten (10) weeks as of today (1-6-17).

All warranty work gets priority and those of us with out of warranty machines keep getting pushed further and further into the future.

Hoping to get it back in a couple of months.

Minelab is losing sales. I bought a CZ21 as a back up to my Excalibur. I like both detectors, how ever if Minelab had a better reputation I would have bought another Excalibur.

I was with out my 3030 for about 6 weeks or more. I was told 2 weeks initially... I bought a back up 3030 just because i could not be without again for so long. Plus I did not get a phone call back until I complained to my dealer....maybe it would have taken even longer had I not done that. Sorry it's taking then so long to get it fixed.

I mailed my Excal II (non warranty) off to Kellco today for a cracked pod. I was told 7-8 weeks to get to the repair desk.

The repair center has had my Sovereign GT 12 weeks as of tomorrow. Be prepared to wait and wait and then wait some more.

15 weeks and waiting right now although I was told there were less non warranty jobs sent in October which they haven't started on yet......so your wait time "may be" shorter.

Maybe you get attached to a certain machine. But you couldn't accept that kind of service on your auto, heating furnace, reefer, pc computer, or anything else. Time to vote with your feet, and say "see you later!"

New newsletter from Andy Sabich included a letter from Minelab acknowledging the problem and promising action mid-year. Looked to me they hope to open a second US repair and will start selling parts to dealers for minor replacement repairs. A bit late but better late than never! Kudos if and when it happens!

I saw that and thought I will believe it when I see it. They have had almost a year to address the situation and have done nothing so far. As an Old Retailer I can honestly say that Minelab Has the absolute worst customer service that I have ever seen.

I hope I am wrong but I honestly believe they are just blowing smoke.
