I see here a few people hunt in PP mode and some hunt in Disc mode.I also have noticed some folks set volume to half and sens to half way are these some new settings people have had luck with. Was just wondering.I added a switch on my handle to switch from all metal to dis a lot easier then reaching back all the time now I don't know which mode to hunt in lol PLEASE HELP

If you have the remote PP button/toggle.....Hunt in PP, volume full, senstivity set at 12 o'clock then find a deep faint target, then slowly tune senstivity till the target comes in better...And make sure you have a good swing to see how well the detector is dealing with all that comes under the coil....each beach is different so you will have to tune it on the first couple targets.

I would Recommend CJC's new book on the excalibur, great for the regular hunter to the pro...I have to say I like the Cd..30 minutes of good field training.

the Xcal is pretty forgiving out there...... if it falses just back the sensitivity off a little. I can run my sensitivity at almost 8 here in Fl. I like PP.... you just have to move slower and in trash i switch to Disc. PP is a tad deeper on my machine..... but that comes from being able to run sensitivity full out.
