Excalibur with S.E.F. 12X15 COIL

Hey Guys, I am running a SEF coil on my excalibur. It has found some good stuff in the 2 months Its been on, but I have a lot of falsing in the water and coming out of the water at the waters edge. Any Ideas why. I've read posts by some that say that their s.e.f. coil is really quiet. That is not the case for me. Its great in the wet sand, no problem there. It almost seems like the coil shape cause's water to cavitate inside and cause some of the issues. I have had a couple of hours in the water where it has worked great but its not consistent. I'm a little baffled, kind of like when I had a battery connection go bad on time.....

Remove the coil cover and use spray on bed liner. That could be the issue with water/sand getting swirled around inside the cover.
