Excalibur waist mounting. Any wire issues?

Hi,
Has anyone had any issues with thier coil wire since mounting thier unit off the rod. Someone told me the wire inside could breakdown and cause problems. Anyone have issues with this issue or not? I recently bought a waist mount to lighten the weight when I detect. Its from Anderson which I believe is a quality manufacturer of MD accessories.

Anytime your wire is constantly move there is a CHANCE of damage. If you are going to hip mount it make sure you tie off the cable BEFORE the pod and coil that will reduce the movement there and pulling. Ive heard that as a issue.... but i know of no one who has experienced it. I had mine hip mounted..... just didnt like it as well since i elbow mounted mine. I did the shaft myself and ensured i located the grip and cuff for the best balance when out of the water. When its all on the shaft then someone is going to say the twisted cable will crack after awhile if you dont release it occassionally and put something like silicone on it. You know Murphy's Law, im sure the ML repair shop could tell you if they are seeing a lot of repairs because of it.

i had issues with in the 1st year with the coil wire at that time it took 2 months to get it back get ur self traight rod with behind the elbow excal mount i can swing that for longer than the hip mount

i use the belt from Plugger and love it.it has clips on the belt to hold your wires secure and NO stress on the wires!

I like this I just changed over to a belt mount because of arm issues even with a straight shaft. I mounted mine in the front but have issues with the wand hitting the box. i will buy this one from pulgger. thanks BCNJ

I have a similar set up to bling that I made myself out of aluminium plate and tube.

I built in a similar strain relief and also have a lanyard from the end of the shaft that clips onto the belt. This serves a double purpose of not putting any strain on the cable if I drop it and if I need to use my right hand then the shaft just hangs at my side.
