Excalibur SCUBA set-up

What do you guys do with all the extra coil cable on your Excal SCUBA rigs? Here's how I did mine. Maybe someone has a better plan. If you have a pic, that would be awesome.

Thanks!

Nice setup, but I would not run the extra cable like that. You risk getting it caught up on the bottom and wearing against the sand, gravel and coral. Just wrap it around as tightly as you can, as far back as many times as are needed. I normally run my dive setup a bit longer than that, and it's a tight fit, but all the coil wire does actually fit on there. If you check out Diggingrings videos on Youtube he has a plastic wrap around the shaft, which is a great idea to protect the cable a knob guard is also just about a requirment when you're diving.

Thanks! I'll try your method the next time I redo it after going back to the long shaft. I'll also check out Diggingrings.

Funny thing. I just got done looking for Diggingrings on YouTube and couldn't find him so I watched a short MD dive video. After the video, I checked out the comments and saw : Nice vid. I have to say I cringed when I saw you pass over that first concrete block and scraped your coil wire. After a while, you will need a new one unless you take action to protect it. See my vids. I use a blue collapsable pool hose from Home Depot, cut it, and wrap it around the shaft/coil wire for protection. Also, Im assuming you are using a GoPro, but for those conditions, you might want to check into a Backscatter case with the appropriate light filter for those conditions.

Guess who it was? Diggingrings!
