I SOLD MY EXCALIBUR AND THE PERSON WHO BOUGHT IT SAYS IT STARTED GOING CRAZY THE TRESHOLD WAS UP AND DOWN ON AND HE HAD TO ADJUST IT ALL THE TIME ALSO EVERYTHING WAS LOUDER ON IT ALSO THE BATTERY ONLY LASTED AN HOUR. COULD IT BE THE BATTERY IS JUST NO GOOD. THANK YOU

Low battery will make them act very stupid...

Thanks, that reminds me to charge up for tomorrow!

Sure sounds like a battery problem, a weak battery, bad cell in the battery or not fully charged as using the wrong charger. If he has a alkaline pack that holds 8- 1.5 volt alkaline have him use 8 new alkaline batteries in it, but do not use rechargeable in this pack and have him give it a try. It should work like it should then if the rechargeable battery is bad.

In disc its a sure thing you have battery problems when the threshold starts acting wierd and gettting louder. In PP....... you will hear the speakers crackle a bit..... then it just goes D E A D. If its a blue ...... throw it away they are only 700 anyway and get a 1600 maxxpack with charger as an upgrade he will have about $50 in it..... but double the capacity and the charger has a light and charges in about an hour.

Could be the battery, hopefully, because this could be a quick fix.I've sold detectors that worked fine when shipped and the buyer had problems as soon as they assembled for use. Most of the time it was a easy fix,but some buyers still wanted a refund.Good luck hope your sale turns out well.
