Excalibur Question!!!???

I was wondering if this is normal or should I have it checked out ? When I have the detector on the table and the coil facing away from any metal and set to normal setting to do air test The threshold will break up if I shake the main unit a little . Is this normal ? I never really noticed this before! I put the headphone guts into a new set of Headphones but I didn't cut the wiring just notched everything to get them to fit so I don't think that would be causing the issue! Any thoughts ????

it happens when u turn the unit at home lot of electrical interference i did the same thing with my headphones

I agree...You need to check it out away from any houses and such. Chances are you are just picking up RF noise in the house.

Cool thanks guys !! I was hoping that's the case , I still have 1/2 year on warranty and I just couldn't wait any longer to do the mod and then I noticed this and said just my luck!!! Thanks again for the replies and will be checking out the much quieter head set this weekend!

On another note. Be sure to protect that wire where you made the notch. I did the same and in a few months the wire chafed and water entered the wire and wicked itself to the transducers. They shorted from inside out.I had thought I had made the notch smooth. You may want to get a cabinett gromet and split it and put in on. By the way it was the best thing that ever happened! I bought a set of goldmaster headphones. All I can say is you don't know what your missing. Because you don't hear it!

Hey buried , do you know the contact info on the gold masters I want to get a set for myself I've heard nothing but great things about them!

Well I had her out today the head phones are like night and day ! No more outside noise!! She is running much more stable outside but I still get some chatter if I shake the main unit ? Maybe I have a wire going bad? I'm going to give them a call and see what mine lab says !!
