Excalibur Question ??

Turning down the volume on the Excalibur will it lose a terrible amount of Depth??? Thank You, Mickfin

turning down the Volume as long as you can here the threashold change. iv always ran my Vol about 1/2 way up..where you loose actual depth is if you turn down the Sensitivity.

YOu may be confusing lose of depth with the lose of weak targets that you didnt hear much like having your threshold up to high. I like mine at 3/4 the targets just sound a little better.

Although loss of depth comes from too much sensitivity too,and you'll never know this. The number one mistake you can do is run too high and bounce 17 freq's back at you. Lots of times I hunt around 4 or 5 and still dig targets 15 inches.
But use those dials and move them around to see just whats what. Not every hunt has to be for treasure! Go find a nice weak tone and turn those dials and see what you can make it sound like, you will be surprised to see that more isn't always best.
Sometimes working in the null works wonders too!

next time you are popping coins out deeper than 6 inches deep, turn volume down in 1 or 2 notch increments prior to digging and see what effect it has on the signal.....in my opinion volume can have an effect on depth..but trial and error on your own machine will give you the best answer.....on my old ex-1 my volume has to be at least 1/3rd or higher for me to even hear it....
