Excalibur or PI machine for beach? or modified Minelab Explorer?

I will log my vote for the Excalibur. It's been doing very well for me and a number of others as you will see if you go though the posts from the past several weekends. It's a first class beach machine. Personally, I do not desire to dig fish hooks, bobby pins, and other peieces of garbage that PI users have to contend with so I like a Tone ID machine that masks out iron and gives you some idea what you're digging. Not knocking those who love their PI's...just not for me. Maybe for you...

I understand here in Fla. our beaches aren't near as trashy as other places so it's not really a problem. My only Headhunter complaint is that she eats the batteries. 2 - 9 volts are supposed to last 12 hours but I have to change them about every time out. therick
