Excalibur or fisher 21?

Can't make up my mind, which is best for Florida beaches (wet sand, surf) Excalibur ll or the fisher 21? I have used the CZ6a and the Explorer 2 on beaches here in FL. found stuff with both, Explorer 2 I seam to have found smaller pieces of jewelry, I think I would have missed with the CZ. the Explorer has the FBS tech and the Excal has the BBS will it find small stuff like I did with the Explorer 2. I can afford buy one but which one?

The X-Cal is weak on small gold and thin gold chains. . Great on rings. I have found a couple small gold items but they were shallow and the X-cal gave a very weak signal. No experience with the Fisher.

I think it comes down to which suits you better. From everything I've read they are pretty much equal in capability.

Checkout mounting options, do you want to run a threshold or silent machine, etc.
For me those wre what it came down to as well as the reliability factor since I am outside the US.

I chose a CZ-21. Now to learn how to use it best.

You might as well ask which is better for FL roads, BMWs or Mercedes? These are two top of the line models. Each has advantages over the other. They are both equal in the depth department. Pick one and learn to use it well. Either way you are making a good choice.

I don't have either. I have been looking pretty hard at the cz21. I would be asking what are the costs of repairs. You might get comparisons do repair costs down the road.
In reality I need more time with my Sand Shark.

I am biased since I use an older model Xcal 1000, but knowing other hunters that use the CZ's with great success....you can't take anything away from either. Use what you got and use it often you can't help but get good with it in time.

"cz's are also weak on small chains, but very ,very easy to learn and use. good luck" I agree. Both are good, I have both for different reasons.
I like the Excal, how ever bought the CZ 21 as a back up and have to say they are both easy to use and have found gold with both. The CZ 21 is built like a Mack truck and
Fisher has a great customer service name.

I'd take the cz-20 over the excal anyday. WHY???? because the excals target response lags compaired to the cz and even that of the Beach Hunter I.D 300..

There both heavy units but if you want a unit built like a tank the cz-20 gets my vote , then the BH300 and then the excal.

CZ-20 has default (built in) belt mount like 1280x aquanaut?

I hunt the beach and water with the Excalibur and love it. I use my discrimination at mininum setting and dig all targets. I have found eight gold rings this summer and plenty of silver, titanium and other rings. I do hunt often and still learning the machine and how to hunt the beach. More important is to learn your machine, either one will do good if you learn to use it.

I have both the CZ-21's. One with an 8" and one with a 10.5". Hip mount and swing all day. I think the CZ is built better IMHO. My choice because I dive 90% of the time also. It is a silent search machine. I can hear stupid boaters that want to ruin my dives because they have absolutely NO idea what a dive flag is.

Side by side they are comparable and deadly on gold.
