EXCALIBUR OPINION

Dears . Excalibur owners , help me please . I have Excalibur machine from 1 year . and when the equinox machine coming to the world . have many Excalibur owners saying the equinox machine great than the Excalibur and with it you will never missing any targets same like the Excalibur . is it correct , ho say yes and ho say no . with explain please . regards

There are some advantages to have the Nox. But as of yet ive not found anything the Xcal wouldnt with the Nox. Ive gotten more chains...... but pure luck because most are larger..... 20 to 48 gram range. In the Wet sand i believe the Nox really shines and exceeds the Xcal. It moves much better than the Xcal in the water and has a larger coil. Both the headphones and coils can be replaced easily. Its faster, lighter to swing, and has a TID screen. The single freqs also makes it a great all around machine that can easily used for traveling. Now to answer your question........ would i sell my Xcal to buy one. No .... i dont believe it has that much target advantage IN..... i repeat IN the water. Everyone misses target for a LOT of reasons. It may or may not get smaller targets. It can be a chatty machine..... and its obvious you loose something going from beach 1 to beach 2 with it. What makes it attractive is it meets most of what we asked for in a wader to replace the Xcal.....at a better price and MUCH MUCH better warranty. Repairs are a big thing with the Xcal as well..... something YOU dont pay for for 3 years. Theres a real attraction to have a Nox..... but dont let it be because someone is telling you its finding things the Xcal wont......... its because its new and we are seeing everyone post finds.... some rarely post or are new too.

I bought an Equinox 800 and I also own 4 excals (bought used) with different size coils as well as a CTX3030, I will be keeping at least 3 of my excals and I am keeping my CTX 3030. The only thing the Equinox will see the excal want is thin gold chains and tiny gold nuggets. I added the Nox to my arsenal because of it's ability to see thin gold chains and tiny gold nuggets, another detector in my arsenal.

Th....m maybe ive just not come acrossed any yet, but ive not seen any of those small chains. Ive been working my butt off too looking for them. I also dont know yet if there is a difference between multi freq that the xcal uses vs the Nox. Meaning is one better than the other once it hits the salt water?

The multi-iq on the equinox is totally different from BBS or FBS. I know a couple hunters who have found thin gold chains with the Nox. I only found 2 gold chains with my excal, one had a large clasp the other was rolled up in a ball, wasn't a good signal at all but I was bored because of the lack of targets so I dug it. Just like always, got to the coil over a thin gold chain to find it, I am sure with your experience if you got the coil over it you would have dug it.

U know the ole saying .... the light bulb just came on. Its like crosses.... they can really break up.... so many hunters walk over them. With any new machine..... u may have to learn what a not so obvious target is. You can bet ill be after anything that makes me curious...trust your gut. Smallest target ive seen found so far is a .4 gram gold earring with the nox....I know the xcal will hit on a .3 gram piece of gold. Anyone who water hunts should add the nox....it will pay for its self. But like you TH im keeping my blues and CTX.

If you shallow water hunt in salt water the Excalibur is a proven machine that has stood up to the test of time.
If you want a detector for both salt water and park hunting the Equinox might be a better choice but I am sure there are those that swing the Excalibur in a park as well.
It is just a bit heavier and has no visual screen to look at.
Not everyone liked the tones of the Excalibur and it did take some time to get proficient understanding them.
I doubt the Excalibur would miss any target the Equinox could detect.
