EXCALIBUR II SOUNDS

Well I got a new Excal on Thursday put it together and charged the battery. Today I head to the lake to give it a spin. The first thing I tried was hunting in pinpoint so the tone stays the same . I did notice that signals aren't as loud in pinpoint. I switched to Disc to check signals and quite a bit of the time the signal in disc would sound low and go to a iron or null sound on repeated swings. I also have an Etrac and that sound is usually associated with iron on it. My question is why do the tones progress lower as i continue to swing ? There were times where there seemed to be a sweet spot that "better" tones came. I didn't get it all figured out today. My scoop sucks and we have a clay bottom in most of the lakes around here. New scoop will be ordered soon! I think if I can locate some of these targets I will be able to process the sounds better. I have watched a lot of videos on the Excal and never heard the tones go lower like I did today! I love the Excal just can't wait to be a better operator.

One thing to make them louder in Pp is to turn up the senstivity, you can run it extrem hot in that mode..

not sure if you seen any of my vid's..several there on the excal

Thanks for the help and the video . I'm headed back out to practice and put some hours on . I did start in auto but soon went to manual mode and ran the sens up to 10 with out falseing. Practice and time will help a lot I'm sure.

give it time you will figure it out...very very low tones are quiet often foil or iron ,you can either get used to them or turn sensetivity down slightly...lake hunting can be very rewarding if you are willing to dig alot of trash.... the coin tones will come to you in no time--provided you can find some.....its the micro jewelry ,stud earings type of signals that take time and patience......the tiny jewelry stuff will only sound off down to maybe 2or3 inches whereas coins will sound off down to maybe 1 foot.....for this reason i only take off 1 or 2 inches of sand on the first attempt to retrieve lake targets....its very easy to loose the tiny jewelry stuff if your first scoop is too aggressive..... give it time and have fun.... i only hunt in disc myself... and yes i gotta agree with you about getting your settings to that sweet spot --point at which the coilis more responsive....enjoy..

Today was a better day ! 2 rings and some coins and the usual junk. The rings are not anything special , a Ti with a comfort band and a silver toe ring but they really made me happy! A sign of better things to come! Now I got to get me a better Scoop! Mine is about 4 inches wide and 3 inches tall VERY FRUSTRATING to dig with !
