Excalibur II Mounting Hole Cracks on Straight Shaft Issue

RonG

New member
Hi, Everyone, OK here is and issue that I was wondering if anyone else has had? A buddy of mine bought a brand new excal II and @ the same time bought a straight shaft. The

Mounting method on the straight shaft is with 2 plastic bolts and wing nuts. He must have tightened the wing nuts a little to tight and the mounting holes on the plastic tabs have

small cracks around them. Was wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them, and if they had come up with some kind of a fix, before the cracks get any worse and

the tabs break off , and then really be in big trouble? Was wondering if anyone knows of repair on the plastic or maybe some kind of a strong bonding material that could be used

to reinforce the bracket. Lucky if this machine has 3 hours of use on it. We put it up on ebay but when we noticed the cracks we took it off. He also has and Explorer Pro and prefers

to use that machine, Has this happened to anyone else out

there or he the only lucky one to have over thickened the bolts? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ron

Some two-part epoxy and maybe a thin plastic washer on the outside of the mounting holes to re-inforce the mounting ears. Use a 1/4 inch drill bit to make sure holes are lined up correctly. If it isn't broke that should keep it from any further damage. Maybe someone else will have a better idea and help you out. Good luck.

Are you sure they are cracks, all the new excal's II that I"ve seen has what looks like hairline cracks at the mounting holes which are nothing more than the way the plastic comes out of the mold. Take a closer look, or call Mine lab they will explain this to you if that is for sure the case on that one.

it's going to break more you can repair it with special plexi glass cement from Ace Hardware.
