Excalibur II in Auto sensitivity blanks out briefly

Im a new user with the excalibur II 800. The other day I was water hunting about chest deep and a few time the threshold would go silent then come back on. I was using the auto sensitivity and minor threashold. the bottom was gravel . Was I just going over mineralized ground and was the machine just resetting?

Was the "Blanking" over a specific area on the bottom? If so, this is completely normal. You were probably over an iron target and the threshold is designed to null out over steel/iron even with the discrimination at it lowest setting.

Thanks for the rapid feed back. It happened a few times. perhaps minerized ground with lots of iron?

I doubt it was due to ground mineralization. Rather you simply passed over an iron target. If you are curious next time switch to all metal (pinpoint) and run some passes over the target. You may be able to get a better feel for the location, size, and depth in all metal.
