EXCALIBUR II any good??

Hello all! Looking at an Excalibur II. I have owned an Excalibur 1000 in the past. How does the Excalibur II compare? Looking for Pros and Cons. HH

No difference in depth or stability. The response is just a bit faster. I have side by side compared and recorded the same targets on both machines. The tone is the same but the attack, sustain release is just a bit faster on the Excal II.

The Tornado Coil on the Excal II seems to be a bit of a hotter coil. But IMHO the changes are mostly cosmetic. I am extremely happy that the palette of signal tones remains unchanged. So if you go from having had an Excal to using the Excal II you will not have to relearn the signals.

the last being the Excal ll.i like it way better over the old model.it is more sensitive and the coil is lighter and easy to swing under water.

I have the Excalibur 1000, blue headphones, and my hunting partner just purchased the Excalibur II. I have tried his, and outside of the coil being a little lighter I can't see much difference. The coil weight is not a deal maker for me as I hunt slow in the water to hear the faint deep tones so my older coil is fine for my type of hunting. Now, if he starts finding targets I missed, then I would have to take a second look at the Excal II.
