Excalibur Gets The Bling-Bling

A spin down the lane with my Excalibur at low tide this morning proved fruitful. I have to say I am loving using the Excal and get pretty excited when I hear that low-tone gold growl, which is very distinctive indeed.

I overslept and got there at 6am for the 6am low tide...about two hours late. Oh well, I'll do what I can. Didn't find much right away but then hit a few hot spots that produced much clad and a couple of 14K keepers. That's two gold rings in two weekends, so I'm happy. Here's the "nut".

Hey Mike, I told you, that you would LOVE THE EXCAL, when you ordered it!! I now have (3) EXCALS, that's THREE!! One more, than I really wanted to own! But seeing as I had (2) go bad, one after the other, I guess I'm better off. I had just got my original back from MINELAB, and Dick Shultz in Customeer Service did me A REAL GREAT DEED!! Then the Seasearch Coil on one of my used EXCALS went bonkers!! I just dropped that one off the DeMarco Detector Sales for shipment to MINELAB, Las Vegas for repair, and probably a new 10" Tornado Coil. Then one of the cells in my original pattery pod was not charging to full capacity, so I had to buy a New Battery Pod. Now, I've got to figure a way to have the original battery pod rebuilt with NEW NiCad or if I can have it build with NEW NIMH Batteries would be better. Do you have any ideas
or recommendations? I'm going to post a message concerning same on this forum, maybe one of the electronic wizards can refer me to someone or battery company for having it rebuilt.
But, CONGRATULATIONS on the Bling Bling!! You're way ahead of me, I was out waterhunting for 2 1/2 hrs., last week in a saltwater bay beach site, and still No Bling Bling!! I'm going to try and hit it again heavy this weekend, and a few other places. Let me know if you have any suggestions on rebuilding the battery pod. I want to send it in to professionals, that will guarantee their work. HH,
