Excalibur failure or me?

JUst bought a used Excalibur both batteries had charges in them . I used up the charge in both batteries but can't seem to recharge either of them . I'm not very good with electricity but I'll try anything once. Have any suggestions? The machine is a year old.

did you screw the charger on the bat unit? and be sure they are rechargible bat's. does the charger get hot after about 30 min?

It sounds to me like you may have a bad charger. It's also possible that your batteries have lost their ability to take a charge, but you said they had charge on them and you wore them down and now can't get them to charge. I'm assuming that you mean AT ALL, so that would seem to indicate the charger.

I'm no electrical engineer either, but if you can use a meter then try this: Set your meter to DC volts and put the scale to 30 volts. Test the output of the charger at the two thick posts. The charger says it's rated at 14.5 volts but I get 18.6 out of mine. I think if you're not getting at least the rated output of 14.5 then you would probably need a new charger. If you are getting 14.5 volts or better, than I would look into getting one of your pods in to a place like Batteries Plus and getting rid of those old Ni Cad batteries and having them replaced with Nickle Metal Hydride...they last longer and don't suffer from the "memory effect" that plagues the Ni Cad's. They charge about $40 for the conversion.

I would also check the battery adapter, Checking at this point you have to 2 larger point to work with. This will also tell you weather it is a charger problem or a battery problem.

I would think it is a charger problem it happens often, if it.... is it is a cheap fix.....around $20.00
