Excalibur Ergonomical Setup

BOIdaho

New member
I would like some suggestions on a better setup for my Excalibur. I find the stock setup extremely tiring when trying to move the coil back and forth in the water. Wrapping the extra cable around the shaft just creates more resistance in the water. I have the hip mount for the control box but I am sure that the plastic bolts will only tolerate a couple of removals before they become unusable. Will metal bolts interfere with the machine? If I leave the control box on the hip mount I have more pieces and parts that can be damaged by being dropped. The ergonomics of the OEM setup just leaves a lot to be desired. I have heard of people buying different shafts, but I would like to change this setup without spending a lot of money. Any advise or suggestions would be appreciated.

Ebay has a shaft available for $79

Straight shaft is a great way to go and so is the chest mount.

The chest / belt mount is around $35

Either way you can't go wrong.

The straight shaft to me is the best upgrade for the Excalibur you can do.

How in the world do they carry the control box on their back and be able to adjust the detector????

I carried mine on the lower back. You dont need to adjust it very often if at all so its no prob.
I never used the all meta/pinpoint on mine anyway as it wasn't as sensitive as discrim mode!

the 1st pic. is a buddy of mine................his wife sewed his together.....................u see the knife?? - Look Close - nice rig he has for damn sure.
