Excalibur earphone replacement problems....

I sent my Excalibur in for service which i understand now is done by kellyco. there was a damaged wire/connection in the earphones the replaced them with the basic grey ghost phones when i got it back it seems like there is almost no volume to speak of and i have to turn the threshold almost completely up before i hear anything..........also target tones are almost unhearable any ideas?

Kelleyco does do Xcal repairs but so does ML in Ill. Its really helped on the turn around time and i much prefer customer service at Kelleyco. Dave and Barry does a great job trying to do what ever we need done. Are they the ones with the volume on them, might check that. They just unplug and plug back in so they shouldnt have had the board out. Has to be the headphones...... you get a warranty on their work, ask for a shipping label and have it sent back in at their expense.

The Grey Ghost Underwater (not the Amphibian) headphones that came with a used Excal that I got from Kellyco did not put out enough volume to be usable.

I recalled reading something about the issue. A search found this thread: http://www.findmall.com/read.php?21,2105797

After removing the transformer, the Grey Ghost Underwaters are now very usable, volume wise, and I think a better choice for headphones than the yellow standard ones.

Read the thread then call Kellyco and talk to them about it and be specific about what headphones are on your Excal. Hopefully they can resolve it for you if you are not inclined to dig into the headphones yourself.
