Excalibur battery "on" time

My new Excalibur battery gives me about 9 hours detecting time. It's only on it's second recharge so am I correct in assuming the "on" time will increase as the battery is "broken in" with more recharges.

I charge the battery on an electrical timer for 15 hours max after hearing the first of the low battery squawks...
