Just returned from England where I managed to fry my battery charger , I still have the 3 pin adapter to fit the battery pod , Im finding it hard to locate an excalibur battery charger , will any 120 volt detector battery charger work ?

A US 120 VAC charger don't work very well on UK 240 VAC do they?

You can get a new charger from KellyCo for about $40 - $50. You can also buy one from Batteries Plus for about 15 - 25 and reuse your old connector.

Go to Batteries Plus and tell them you want a charger for (I think) 8 cells of whatever type you are using. NiCad or NiMH. They have chargers for either type of cells. Verify the type of cells and the number of cells before you buy.

I was looking at a used XCal without a charger and had it all lined up to get one from Batteries Plus but found the XCal didn't work anyway.

Good Luck,

Lee

Thanks for the info ,I had used my adapter in Russia but only on a video cam, luckily I got about 12 hours detecting in before it went flat , found some nice stuff, lesson learned and I wont get caught out again .

Thanks and Yes your right so I bought one today from the nice people at Reillys treasured gold , they deserve the publicity , always helpfull .

You might want to consider buying an Excalibur battery pack that uses AA batteries as a backup. I have one and it's come in handy several times.
