Excalibur 800 (blue one) for $250

I just bought an Excalibur on craigslist for $250, can you believe it? It has some issues though, like the housing on the headphone cable and the coil cable are cracked and peeling but I am planning to replace the headphones and coil anyways. I ordered an 8" tornado coil but the only thing that I am not sure of is the color codes on the wiring, if the stock BBS coil wires are different color from the tornado coil wires colors... Does anyone have any Idea and is there a wire diagram that has been posted in the past for installing a tornado coil on an Excalibur board (Blue one)?

Just search for Joe beechnut on youtube. He did a video on it and it has all the coil wire color codes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hc9ONIzoVH8 This should be the video you need to watch. I used it when I did mine. Good luck, Joe.

Also - Joe OldeBeechnut is now making the new Gray Ghost Amphibian underwater headphones with the Excalibur endcap already connected - this will allow you to swap out the existing phones in less than 5 minutes...

And I have video coming of the New Gray Ghost Amphibians Mod, How to Convert them for the Excalibur.....very easy and anyone can do it....

Will I be able to install a male ikelite connector like I have on my GG right now? That way I can leave the female ikelite already on my excal? thanks...John

Since I already have a set of GG amphibians but do not have a volume control, is there a volume control that I could install into these GG's? These GG's have a male ikelite connector that I just connect to my Excal since I installed a female ikelite on it. Thanks. HH

The GG you have are NOT the GG Amphibians. All of the GG Amphibians come with the volume control.

GG has made a waterproof headphone for a number of years.

The Amphibian is a totally new design with Patent Pending features and improvements.

That being said, Joe OldeBeechnut has decided to make a mod to the GG Amphibian (which automatically comes with the Garrett connector) to allow anyone to connect this superior headphone to their Excalibur in a matter of minutes at home - with no down time for having to send out your machine to get the headphone repaired or upgraded!!!

I want to thank everyone for their help and friendly advice... I hard wired the tornado coil (which the color coding was the same as the BBS coil), hard wired new grey ghost headphones and replaced the o-rings in all of the pots... I tested the unit in the tub and it didn't leak but I will see if it holds in the ocean soon... Thanks again everyone for the videos and instructions:)
