EXCALIBUR 3

DEAR . MINELAB.
when you will make the new minelab Excalibur 3 . Because the Excalibur 2 camed from long time. Regards

The Xcal is a dive machine im not sure what they would change just because ML feels with the introduction of the CTX its got shallow water hunting covered. Mods such as the PP mod, connectors, and many headphones have a depth limit. The Xcal was ML answer to compete with the Fisher CZ. NONE of the companies have changed their dive machine to much. ML does have the ability to change over to FBS which could happen since the Xcal now is the only machine they have using BBS. I dont seem them making a change unless another company comes out with a competitive machine for salt water. Ml no longer makes the Sov, so i think we are lucky that there were a lot of after market companies who still produces coils and such we can use on the Xcal. With FBS now having the chip in the coil....... this could be a pricy up grade for us.

ooo oooo , pick me pick me I know that answer:

Theyll make an Excal 3 when someone else makes something that can compete with the Excal 2.

And if they should ever make a Xcal 3 (which I doubt will ever happen) minelab will ignore the desires of their customers. They will still use a snake shaft instead of a straight shaft. They will still use lousy headphones. They will still fail to put a pinpoint switch on it. They will still use a hardwired coil instead of using a connector like the 3030.

There are machines out there that will compete with the Excal and go even deeper but having said that the Excal is also my go to beach hunting machine, it has found me more gold jewelry that any other machine including my ultra deep TDI Pro. I may buy and sell water and land machines but my Excal I will never sell, might wear it out but I can always buy a new one......HH

You are correct that is why my Excal is modded with pinpoint switch, GG amphibians headphones and Plugger carbon fiber straight shaft. HH

Like my KOSS headphones - a few simple mods and a tweek of the R/C pass filter to suit my hearing .

Was chatting to a ML person and their implied response to a Excal 3 - not in the foreseeable future !!!

A: Not the numbers to see a business case get passed.

B: Shallow water needs are covered by the CTX303 ( I still will not use it in the surf)

So long term support will come back to the users

PS. A new CTX model would be a better chance than a new Excal.
