excalibur 2 1000 coil question?????

JOHNMARKHAM

New member
what makes the coil on my excalibur 2 1000 so good??
thanks
john

John, that is a good question. I had the Excalibur 800 and sold it to get the Excalibur II 1000. I have noticed that the Excal II 1000 is just as easy to swing in the water as the smaller 800. It is lighter and thinner too. That 800 coil was a thick thing that was also heavy.

Could it be that the coil windings are tighter? Better design and construction? I have noticed a huge increase in depth between the 800 old and the 1000 II with the 1000 II on top.

I am also not sure that a coil change to a larger coil would be a good idea especially while swinging in the water. To me, the 1000 II's coil is the ideal coil for my type of hunting. (water)

By the way, speaking of hunting, I was out the other day and found a nice men's 18K gold wedding band that was pretty big. I also found a smaller woman's 18K gold wedding band with a nice cluster of diamonds.

I used to be a dedicated land hunter but now I am convinced that water hunting especially in Florida is the only way to hunt. By far, the finds are more numerous and more rewarding money wise. And the sights are awesome!

they moved the mounting ears a little closer to center and the coil is a good deal thinner. those tornado coils are great coils:thumbup:

John: You have to give minelab some credit. Those coil sizes helps people find targets and still enjoy the scenery at the beach. Now them coils as big as garbage can lids will make you move too fast and dig too deep to enjoy what is around you. JMHO :minelab:
