thresh hold barely audible, kinda like a gnat in your ear, discrimination at 1 and sensitivity on auto til you get a few hours on the machine. You will still dig pulltabs and aluminum trash but not iron or bottlecaps. You have to dig some trash to get the loot, sorry.
 
disc on 1 u will dig bottle caps until u learn the signal .. get out of auto sens..after few hours and keep it around 5-6 if there is no falsing u can push it up a bit at a time
 
I run the same settings on mine... work just fine. Some beaches are 8 sens, others 6... Excal is not a "set it and forget it" machine!
