Excal2 or ctx3030 for beach water hunting

What's your thought's for a main beach machine I hunt water 90% water wading at the beach Excal2 or CTX3030 or just stick with my cz21 ?

I have both. I use the CTX (often with the 17"coil) unless I KNOW I am going to dunk the machine. I don't mind accidentally dunking it now and again, but I tend to baby my large cash items when theres an alternative. Of course, if you intend to ever use a new machine in the dirt or hunt in the trashy sand, the answer becomes easy- CTX. If you are happy with your CZ(and I bet you are), I'd probably get the CTX as a complementary machine.

(also, some disagree violently with me, but I like the GPS feature for mapping finds and seeing how well I covered an area)

I agree. I use my excals for hooka diving. Ctx with 17" coil for sweeping beach. The coverage and depth of ctx/17" coil is Awsome.

I have both the CTX 3030 and the CZ-21. I find each has its advantages, and basically its what I feel like bringing out with me for the day. The CZ-21 however, in auto tune mode, I tend to find more gold than the CTX.

I have a CZ21 and Excal.

On the sand - Excal>CZ21
In the water - CZ21>Excal

I think each has its advantages. If you are going into the water a lot, just keep your CZ21. I think the CZ21 is the better water machine and I wouldn't take the CTX in the water. I think a modded Excal or CTX is the better beach machine though. Why are you looking to get these when you have a CZ21? I have compared my CZ21 and Excal a bunch of times and the differences are splitting hairs.

I've used them all. Nothing like the CTX. I take mine in salt water daily. Had mine over 3 yrs. and no problems so far. I love it.
