Excal volume drops underwater

While diving with my Excal it starts out fine, then about a 1/2 hour into the dive the volume cuts out to the point I can barely hear it.
Any suggestions???
 
The first thing I would check is the battery.

If you wiggle the cord does it make any difference?
 
I had a problem with my Excaliber doing the same thing, new headphones cured the problem, the new thresher headphones that replaced my old ones are awesome.
