After two weeks in Wv deer hunting in the cold I was glad to see that the weather Guesser said that it was going to be 78 degree and sunny yesterday. I think he was a little conservative in his guesstimate as it got quite warm at the beach.
Just had to take the Excalibur II to the beach for a little sun. On the way i kept trying to decide if I wanted to hit the beach where the majority of donors go or to an area where I had spent an afternoon digging clad. The "Donors" area won and after about an hour and a half of finding very little but trash I had worked my way up the beach about two blocks.
Got a Loud nickel tone on the Excal and took a shallow dip with the scoop. Poured out the contents of the scoop and took my foot and spread it out. and my heart rate went up a little as I saw a flash of "Silver". Picked up the target with the scoop and had a ring in the scoop. I grabbed it and started looking for a hallmark. Found "14K" and then my heart rate went up just a little more.
My total for the day was One 9.7g white gold wedding band, $2.10 in clad, 30 linconl/zincolns and a bunch of junk. I found one crucifix that I initially thought was silver but it appears to be plated copper. I found the ring within 50-100 feet of where I found another white gold band in October. The ocean had removed some more sand. It was down to hardpack. Sand mixed with shell and gravel.
The water was too cold for wading and I have yet to get a wet suit. However the scenery was outstanding as the Bikini's were out and about. It was a GOOD day.
