Excal stright shaft, which one?

Naplesjack

New member
Just got my new Excal and after a few uses I know I need a balanced shaft. Which one is the best made and do I need the knob guard. I will use for in the water and wet sand. Thanks

I just bought the long one from Fla. I only hunt in the water. I didnt like it. The bicycle grip was crooked on the shaft and drove me nuts. Couldnt keep the controls from going to the bottom either. The string thing was also a hinderance.
If you could find one similar to Bill/Ca straight rod that woould be the ticket.

Look a over the last 3-4 pages of forum and see if this does not help you. I also had posted on the water hunting forum for counsel. I ended up going with the Reilly's Treasure gold "Lighting Rod" and I love it. What a difference!

hi Naplesjack, I assume you are located in Naples, Fla., rather than Naples, Italy. I recommended the Reilly's Treasure Gold Lightning Rod to Gulfhunter. This is the same one, that Joe DeMarco sells, and I bought all (3) of mine from Joe DeMarco. If you live close to Wilmington, Delaware, I have one of Joe's that I used, and I am selling it because I am selling that particular EXCAL. I have a total of (3) EXCALS, and I am keeping (2) and selling one, that is why I am selling the Lightning Rod Straight Shaft. I believe they are still $100, plus shipping, but if you are located in Naples, Fla., contact REILLY'S Treasure Gold in Pompano Bch, Fla., and SAVE ON SOME SHIPPING CHARGES. REILLY'S/JOE DeMarco sell the same Lightning Rod.
Hope this helps, hh
