Excal straight shaft wing bolt question-Tightness?

JoeSWFLA

New member
First of all ,do they come with lock washers? Second,do you tighten
them up snug enough to hold the arm cuff still, or just lightly.
What does the manufacturer say on your particular model.Would not
want to crack the plastic on the housing. All answers appreciated.
Thanks and HH Joe

Don't expect to find torque specs.
Any detector bolts should be tightened to a degree that seems prudent for the kind of bolts used......
Nylon or other synthetics can't be tightened like steel or bronze. Metal bolts can crush or crack things if over-tightened. Plastic bolts will strip.
You need to use some judgement here. If things seem to fit together well, then only tighten enough to do the job. Be careful if things seem to need a lot of tightening.
Other than the coil bolt, I put a dab of silicone rubber on the threads of the rest of the bolts so that no lock washers will be needed.(on my GT.....should work on anything else).
