Excal stock headphones question???

Ok, I know this is one I should have sought answer to long ago but I have just been suffering with it and have just now had enough. The wind noise level in my stock headset reaches nearly intolerable with anything past 5 kts of wind. The other day I noticed a small hole at the bottom of the earpiece and wondered if plugging it would eliminate the "sound of the sea in the seashell" so to speak.. I expect to hear "buy a set of Grey Ghosts" but if there's anything which can improve what I have (without invading the electronics) I'll be trying that first. Have at it guys.

Put a pair of Peltor 101 headset on. If you can solder and cut wires that is the way to go.Besides that have gel earpads for them, you are talking QUITE and can wear for hours. Headsets are less than $30 but the gel pads are about $50

Tape up the holes like Mel said. They are just drain holes when they get submerged. Now listen for that low-growl sound. HH :minelab:

I Agree
One Hundred Percent Improvement over the Stock Yellows, if you Hunt the Ocean and hunt AM/PP you will hear the faintest signals, and they stay Put on your head...if your in a hurry, the tape works wonders also...silicon can be subed for the tape .............After either of these mode's you will fall in love again......................Joe

In the event you are not savvy enough to build the headphones yourself like me, this guy can build them for you, "MR. GOLD MASTER". Send him a PM and inquire about his fees, if you would like. If your unit was fitted with ikelites, that would be preferrable.
Use the Peltor H7A and the HY80 gel pads. I have a couple of extra sets I MAY sell soon, not sure? This is the source I use to obtain mine and they have the best prices.
