Excal shaft locks

pistolpete

I will be making a couple of straight shafts for my excal during the holidays and will be using aluminum tubing like the factory uses for the s rod. I have the shaft clamps that lock the lower rod to the upper shaft but cant figure out how the clamp attaches to the tubing. There are 3 pieces included in the clamp package- a small type plastic button, the round clamp itself and a plastic ring which I think sits on top of the clamp and helps to seal the clamp to the aluminum tubing. Is there anybody out there that could help me with explanations, pictures, etc on how to install/remove these shaft clamps? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx, seasons greetings...Pete
