Excal Sensitivity Question

Just wondering what sensitivity setting you guys use in the salt water. I've only used mine once in the water out on a sand bar at low tide. Ocean City Md. The control indicates that i should be around 6 or so "sub-aqua". I had mine set at 10 and was finding clad with no problem. Will i get more depth with a lower setting ? Gonna be going alittle deeper when the water gets warmer. Really appreciate any input as to what settings i should be using.

A few of my video's are at OC, I get down about once a month this time of year. In the last video I am almetal hunting and the sensitivity is set at 7 to 8, but at one point I switch back to 2 to 3 and you can't hear the target as well, What is best is to find a deep faint target,{In AM/PP, at OC this is deeper with the excal} then adjust your threshold and sensitive to what is best on that target. Check this on a couple targets to calibrate the detector to this hunt. Next hunt may be different so you will have to do this again at the start of each hunt, I have found different Beach's require different strategies, that would cover hunting style, detectors, scoops, time of day, gear, and most important settings. CJC's books are excellent on the subject and are a great reference for me still.........May see you there....and the excal is a ring killer at that beach during the summer....Good Luck...Joe
