Excal or Explorer?

Just curious for those folks who happen to have an Explore & an Excal. Which machine would you recommend for hunting in the wet sand?

Not talking about water hunting, just wet sand. Which would you feel would be the better machine to use?

Ive hunted with people using the Etrac..... didnt do any better than i did with the SE. The Xcal isnt quit as deep as an Explorer.... yet i have to say its very quiet. BUT..... i hate going back to the truck for the Xcal when i see a cut in the water. If you get in the wave line with an Exp. you will get a little noise from the coil.

I've got both and love them however, I think the Explorer can't be beet!! IMHO

If you like the Explorer and are handy; here is what GraveDiggerMax did to keep the salt spray and water out of his Explorers:

GraveDiggerMax is the MAN, and that set up works well. I did mine a while ago and I'm very happy with it.

I have both, but the water's a little chilly this time of year, so I figured I'd just hunt the sand. Beach hunting is relatively new for me, & I haven't had much luck with the Excal. I know my xs has 28 frequencies vs the 17 of the Excal, & just wondered which would do the better job.

smoldrn. I also have both an MD and a long time.
it all depends on your own (an ear for music, ability to understand the experience of MD), from where you are looking for what you are looking for, what coils are using.
if the search in the water then I tend to Excalibur.
if you search on the shore of an Explorer

any one of them does something that is targeted at...
