Excal on land

pbrods

New member
Does anyone else use their Excal on land? Is there a trick to using the headphones? They seem to be a real pain. I have them around my neck and the volume turned high but every time I go to put the detector down to dig a plug, it seems to be a chore and a pain taking the headphones off. Should i get another detector for land that doesn't need headphones or is there a trick that I don't know about?

Hummm well I really can't say I have any problems,
I just put mind around my neck when I gotta dig a plug
or just take them off, I guess at times it's a problem but
it's not stopped me from hunting, I did use a zip tie
on them to keep them to fit but that's it for me.
Good luck
John

I try every way to hold and use the Excal.( chest mount, belt mount, strait shaft...) I am back with the original S shaft with a bungee strap hook to a shoulder harness. It is the best way for best performance( no wire hagging), the weight(60%less) and to keep your machine up when you have to put it aside.Very simple, adjustable and removable easy.

Forget to tell you, When i get on my knee, I let the detector on the side and it stay 4 to 6" of the ground
