this is the best way iv found to mount my Excal ll.

its the battery harness for the Minelab GPX 4000 .i just mounted the Excal hip mount in place of the pouch.cant even tell its back there.
 
Not bad. I prefer to hang my Excal from my neck as it works better for me that way. I can change the controls if I need too easier.
