I got to use my new Excal II 800 at the beach this past Saturday. I got to a section of drysand that made the Excal II completely null out. So I put a clad dime down in it and even while being completely nulled out, it still hit on the dime. Is this normal ? I had the disc on 1 and sensitivity a little past the 2 o'clock position and the threshold at a steady hum. Even with the sensitivity totally at it's lowest point it still nulled out in this spot. Could this be that the Excal II is still too hot for some ground or was the blacksand just to concetrated. The spot that the detector nulled out on was about 30' X 30'. In all metal it seemed to work ok but the depth was not great. Has anybody else ever come across this ? I just recieved some Excal books from CJC and am reading all of them. Maybe they will have an answer.
