Excal II Battery Pac Problem

Sand Scoop

New member
Water got into my battery pac and I didn't notice it until the Ol Excal quit on me.I had changed the pac for the 1500ma a year ago and it fit really snug. The batteries are shot so I get my needle nose to pull them out.In the process and a quick jerk when one of the batteries broke loose I broke the small wires going to the plug. IHas anyone has a good idea on how to remove the epoxy without damaging the wire even more? then I could resolder or anyone have a pac for sale without the batteries?

Beachnut can fix you up with pictures and instructoins. Do you still have the beach brute ? I am in Myrtle Beach this week. My email is acsmith6@verizon.net Thanks

Almost have to redo the wiring/epoxy for the best results. Do you hunt in the deep or just a wetsand hunter? Pictures would help................

I live in Myrtle Beach so when the hunting is good I'n in the water.I have my trusty GT for the wet sand. The problem is getting the epoxy out without damaging the wires.I haven't read about anyone doing this or have tried.I don't think I can buy only only the plug part of the pac.I have thought of heating the piece in hot water to see if that would soften it some.I have nothing to loose the way it is..

This is what I have..I can send it to you to try, if it works (and it should) 33 dollars will cover it, shipping n all, plus your old connector, you've been around awhile..I trust that, let me know, I can get it out Monday..then you can send out the payment..when she is snug

Hope to have more of these end caps made up by Bscoop and his machinist hunting partner..just for times like this..

ikelite connector and end cap, new Oring.
