Excal II 800 problem

Romanf

Member
My Excal II is not sounding on coins, or if it is, the sound is barely audible. I did an air test on a couple of large coins and could barely hear them. My 10" Excal blows my ears off doing the same test. It does sound off on iron but sort of strange sound, almost like a howl.

Same with and without discrimination. Sensitivity at around 1pm, threshold like mosquito.

Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? Thank you......

Most of us dont move our Volume knob.... so check that first to ensure its up or doesnt spin completely around. Next guess..... headphones, thats where id put my money. Ask Ole Beach Nut, ive went thru a several pairs of headphones.... when they start to go you start loosing volume or one side does. Then battery get some corrosive X and clean the female part of the battery with a Q-tip and test the battery with a multi meter to ensure its fully charged... somewhere around 14 dcv.
