Excal II 1000 battery replacement

John(Tx)

New member
I've had my excal for a little over 3 years and have noticed my batteries don't hold the charge as long as they used to. I'm thinking about ordering some rechargables and installing them in the original pod or should I just order the whole pod from Minelab? Will they still be waterproof after I replace them in the original pod, anything I should know before I do this? Thanks and good hunting. John

Check out Ebay. There's a seller on there offering NiMh replacement packs and they work perfectly in the Excal pods. I have one that came with an Excal that I purchased last Fall and the pack lasts longer than any of the stock pods I have ever used. The best part is that it's only $40 as opposed to nearly $150 for a new Minelab pack. Just be careful in changing out the guts and use a bit of silicone grease to insure a perfect seal.

Buy the ebay one I have 3 of them & they are great just make sure u lube the O ring well with silicone and get it in straight & unless U dive with it you will be fine
